Steve Fisher, library associate professor and DU historian, passed away on Dec. 4, 2024. Steve began his 40-year career at DU in 1977 as assistant curator of Special Collections. Over the years, he taught courses on archives and rare books. With an encyclopedic knowledge of the University, Steve became the DU historian in 2012. After his retirement in 2017, he co-wrote the book “University of Denver” with colleague Thyria K. Wilson. Steve was a highly engaged member of the community who, along with his late wife Katie, could be found cheering enthusiastically at DU sporting events.
